My Perfect Weekend... |
|
| My gal pals and I were able to save some money from our part time jobs so we decided to travel to Miami for a weekend-long vacation at the end of the school year. It was an amazing experience for us. On the first day, we went to Pinky’s to go parasailing; but first we grabbed breakfast at Big Pink’s. The restaurant offers “Breakfast Anytime.” We had bagels, breakfast parfait and tropical fruit salad. When we finally arrived at Pinky’s we were all so excited but also a little nervous. But the crew was very reassuring and made us all feel at ease. Being up in the air and gliding over water is the most exhilarating feeling ever! After that we headed over to Barolo’s, they serve delicious Italian and Seafood at a reasonable price. After lunch we headed over to Lincoln Road to shop. There are many famous brands lining the street, as well several cafés and restaurants. After our little shopping and bonding trip, we went to Nexxt Café for dinner. Nexxt serves good American, Cajun/Creole, Chinese, Mediterranean, Global cuisine. Food prices range from $10-40. To cap off our first day, we went to Bodies Kneaded Spa for some pampering. The next day, we had breakfast at News Café. The pancakes were good and the food offerings are reasonably priced. We then headed to South Beach and spent the morning swimming and lounging on the beach. We grabbed lunch at Puerta Sagua. The restaurant serves reasonably priced Cuban and Spanish fare. Try the Cuban Sandwiches, they’re very tasty. We headed to Espanola Way where quaint one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques are located. We picked up some great finds there; we also bought trinkets and souvenirs for our families back home. We visited the Clevelander that evening to experience a bit of Miami’s Party Scene. The Clevelander is this really cool hotel where all the cool folks come to see and be seen. We shared a pizza because the food there is a bit expensive. We then had a couple of drinks and partied the night away. Well not really, because we had to fly back home the next day. |
